My name is Hayley, some of you may know me from my fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog ‘Frock Me I’m Famous’ which I started back in 2011. I’m currently in my last year of my degree course – Fashion Media & Promotion which I study at Northbrook College.
This year, for my final major project, I came up with the idea to illustrate and create blog planners – notebooks designed specifically for bloggers, by bloggers - to help them stay organised and inspired whilst blogging. This idea came from my own experience of being a disorganised blogger; my computer is always surrounding with post-it notes and I am forever finding notes jotted here, there and everywhere!
I realised that it would be so much easier if all of my ideas were in one place, so that when it came to putting together blog posts I could just turn to my planner and know what I was blogging about and when. It would also be a great way to organise my ideas, jot down any sources of inspiration and list all the blogs that I love - all in once place.
The planners are divided into six sections so that bloggers can get the most out of them, but also to make my planners stand out, so they're not just another generic notebook. The six sub sections of my planners are; Blog Posts, To-do Lists, Ideas, Contacts, Events and Calendar.
This way all ideas are ready and organised into sections, making it so fast and easy to navigate when you know what you’re looking for. The planners come complete with a 2-year calendar, great for planning events, blogger meet ups and keeping on track with how and when you’d like to blog.
I designed every aspect of my planners down to the borders, text and illustrations. The planners are 80 pages, which at the time felt like a huge project but it’s something that I am so proud to have accomplished. Once I completed my planner for the purposes of my project, I then set up my own social media pages to create awareness of the project and bring my planners to the blogging community.
Through my Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages I have already received so much positive feedback from readers asking to buy my planners; it is the most rewarding feeling in the world knowing that someone wants to buy a product that I have created!
I have now decided to get my planners printed, and to sell them to you lovely lot! They are in the process of being ordered so they will be ready very soon!
